Servanthood Ministries

These ministries are involved in building up the body of Christ through supporting the internal structure of the church and making certain the needs of the congregation are met. These ministries understand that there are many new experiences for a person entering a fellowship of believers, either for the first time, or as a result of a relocating. And, these ministries are in place to make that transition smooth.

Altar Counseling Ministry

Mission Statement: To equip souls with biblical knowledge and principles that help build a sound foundation that promotes spiritual growth in becoming an effective witness for Christ.

Scripture: Deut. 6:6-7 – “These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Armor Bearer Ministry

Mission Statement: To provide excellent service to the pulpit so that the person ministering is able to be single minded.

Scripture: 1 Samuel 14:7 – “Do all that you have in mind,” his armor-bearer said. “Go ahead; I am with you heart and soul.”

Communications Ministry

Mission Statement: To impact the lives of Christians and seekers alike through writing articles, sharing information and scriptures that equips, informs and encourages. The ministry uses its web page and quarterly newsletter the “New Vision Voice” to reach souls for Christ.

Greeters Ministry

Mission Statement: We will seek to glorify GOD by creating a welcoming atmosphere where both members and guests of New Vision will feel accepted in our fellowship gathering. Psalm 100:4 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”

Scripture: Psalm 84:10 – “I’d rather be a doorkeeper in the house of My god, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

Hospitality Ministry

Mission Statement: This ministry seeks to glorify God by creating an atmosphere where both members and guests of New Vision feel accepted in our fellowship. Its members serve as an important link in God’s chain to assist in bringing people to Christ. The members of this ministry are committed to doing whatever is necessary to enhance each persons worship experience.

Intercessory Prayer Ministry

Mission Statement: We believe that there is power in prayer, power in the name of the Lord and power in the Word of God. Our purpose is to intercede on behalf of others as the Spirit of God leads us. Praying for the universal and local body of Christ, our Pastor, homes, communities and salvation of the lost.

Scripture: James 5:16 – “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous man is powerful and effective.”

Multimedia Ministry

Mission Statement: To help the message of the cross to be delivered clearly and succinctly using all forms of media.

Scripture: Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

Music Ministry (Choir, Praise/Worship Team)

Mission Statement: The goal of this ministry is to teach souls how to lift up the name of the Lord through song that incites open praise and worship that ushers the church body into the presence of God where souls can be healed and saved.

Scripture: II Chron. 5:12-13 – “All the Levites who were musicians—Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun and their sons and relatives—stood on the east side of the altar, dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps and lyres. They were accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets. The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud,”

New Beginnings Ministry

Mission Statement: To introduce the ways and practices of New Vision Church for those who are joining New Vision by letter, Christian experience or in transition. Also, NBM is responsible for the initial training (through Fresh Start Classes) for those joining New Vision by letter, Christian experience or in transition and their release into God’s service at New Vision where they will be free to “work out their soul salvation”.

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

Presentation Ministry

Mission Statement: To display commitment to God, His purpose, and NVC by creatively supporting the Pastor/speaker, and congregation through visual display of Sermon, event information, scripture of the month, and songs, when requested.

Print Ministry

Mission Statement: To take inspired ideas and create rough draft projects for New Vision and its ministries. Materials are produced in a media format that edify the church and glorify God through the aid of the Holy Spirit.

Scholarship Ministry

Purpose:
The New Vision Scholarship Team is responsible for the oversight of the scholarship application process and recommending scholarship awards in accordance with the vision and guidance of the New Vision Church senior leadership. The New Vision Scholarship Team was authorized in 2013 by the Elder Board.

Ministry Charge:

Coordinate the application, delivery, and selection process for scholarships including:

  1. Design and distribute New Vision student scholarship(s).
  2. Be aware of, and operate within the standards and goals set forth by the Elder Board.
  3. Act as ambassadors and advocates on behalf of the New Vision Church Scholarship Team regarding marketing/ public relations and fundraising.
  4. Announce scholarship requirements.
  5. Review scholarship applications and make recommendations to the Elder Board for final approval.
  6. Preserve the confidentiality of all Team discussions and protect funding donors and applicants’ privacy at all times.
  7. Avoid any conflict of interest and disclose any possible conflict in a timely fashion.
  8. Distribute Correspondence – Letters for Receipt of Application and Resume, Scholarship Recognition and Scholarship Award.
  9. Announce scholarship recipients.

Security/Parking Ministry

Mission Statement: It is the purpose of the security ministry to provide a safe environment for members and guests during worship services and when special events are hosted by church members and/or affiliates of New Vision.

Scripture: Psalms 121:7-8 “The LORD will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

Social Media Ministry

Mission Statement:

The Social Media Ministry will leverage emerging technology and new media[1] to facilitate communication, cooperation, and compassion between New Vision leadership, NV’s contemporary disciples, and the world.

Mission Statement: To produce quality videos (in various formats) of weekly services and special events that take place at New Vision.

Visitation Ministry

Mission Statement: To extend the compassion of Jesus Christ to those who are hospitalized, confined in their homes or otherwise detained.

Purpose:

1. To offer prayer and encouragement to people during times of hospitalization, outpatient surgery, and extended illness. Members of our team visit hospitals, nursing and assisted living facilities and in the home depending on the situation.

2. To let the world know that people matter to both God and our church. Visiting them lets them know we as a church care.

Scripture: Matthew 25:36b

“…I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me.”
