Community Groups "Everywhere You Are"
It's About Doing Life Together
The community groups are small powerful segments of our New Vision church family and they are a critical part of our Christian growth.
Get connected today with one of NV’s community groups in your area?
All community groups should meet to discuss this year’s theme “Seize the Talent”. Community group leaders will be given guidance in leading these discussions. Also, please plan to attend the community group movie night each quarter to emphasize our theme.
If you are not a part of a community group, please see Norval Carroll, Alexander Dabney, or Kay Casey for community group assignment.
If you have questions or concerns about the Community Zone, contact Elder Norval Carroll at 301 599-9507 or norval.carroll@nvision.org.
Also, your group may elect to send questions to our community group email id ( cg-questions@nvision.org) and you will receive a response within 3-5 business days.

This New Vision Discipleship Class is designed for men and women ages 18+
After strenuous studies, you walk across the stage, gripping your diploma—you’ve arrived. Adult at last. But all of a sudden, instead of a diploma you hold a paycheck in one hand and a stack of bills in the other. You find yourself swimming in the treacherous seas of adulthood surrounded by 401ks, insurance, bosses, potential spouses, and everything in between. How can you begin to navigate your 20s and 30s, and still honor God in the process?
Jonathan Pokluda is a Teaching Pastor at Watermark Church and a speaker at The Porch, a gathering of young adults in Dallas, Texas. In this 6-part series, Jonathan speaks to young adults on the art of “adulting” for Christ. He’ll walk through how to discern God’s will for your life right now and specify how you can best glorify Him through your career, relationships, and commitments.

If you invited money to pull up a chair and give you its best advice, you might be surprised that what it would say is pretty close to what Jesus did say two thousand years ago.
It turns out that the secret to financial security isn’t a secret. It’s just not at all what we expect.

Christian counselor, ministry leader, and regular mom Nicole Unice shines on video in this inspiring six-session She’s Got Issues DVD Curriculum—perfect for churches and small groups. As she does in the book, Nicole talks candidly about how the everyday issues that drive you crazy affect you . . . and why you don’t have to settle for letting them win. Some days living up to the whole good-Christian image seems impossible. You do the right things (well, most of the time), but you just don’t feel changed by your faith. Deep down, you’re still dealing with the ordinary struggles—control, insecurity, comparison, fear, anger, and unforgiveness—that hold you back from living free and loving well. The good news? You don’t have to “fix” yourself. You have access to the power of Christ. His power can transform your everyday weaknesses into your greatest strengths and gifts.

When you’re struck with fear, where do you turn?
The fears we carry are many and can paralyze our spirit, damage our relationships, and hinder our faith. In five heartfelt sessions Trillia Newbell invites women to explore their fears and how those fears impact their relationships, self-esteem, peace of mind, and walk with God. Each session features real-life stories of women who are wrestling with fear due to tragic events, difficult circumstances, or deep anxiety about what may or may not happen. We will walk through Scriptures that show God’s love and strength when we are afraid and His faithfulness in times of trouble.

This New Vision Discipleship Class is designed for all women.
Life is never as easy as we want it to be. Car tires blow out. Work piles up. Kids throw tantrums. It’s a struggle. But should it be? We often believe that when we follow Jesus, life should get easier. And when it doesn’t we tell ourselves we’re failing or stuck or abandoned by God. But it’s simply not true.
In this 6-part series, Nicole Unice explores why life’s a struggle and what to do about it. With God as the hero of the story, a hard day has new meaning. We can find joy in him instead of feeling stuck. And our lives can be defined by redemption instead of struggle.

What’s the number one question leadership expert John C. Maxwell is asked while conducting his leadership conference? “How can I implement what you teach when I’m not the top leader?”
Is it possible to lead well when you’re not the top dog? How about if the person you work for is a bad leader? The answer is a resounding yes!
Welcome to The 360 Degree Leader. People who desire to lead from the middle of organizations face unique challenges. And they are often held back by myths that prevent them from developing their influence. Dr. Maxwell, one of the globe’s most trusted leadership mentors, debunks the myth, shows you how to overcome the challenges, and teaches you the skills you need to become a 360 degree leader.
If you have found yourself trying to lead from the middle of the organization, as the vast majority of professionals do, then you need Maxwell’s insights. You have a unique opportunity to exercise influence in all directions-up (to the boss), across (among your peers), and down (to those you lead).
The good news is that your influence is greater than you know. Practice the disciplines of 360 degree leadership and the opportunities will be endless…for your organization, for your career, and for your life.
